Resort Policies

2020 Prime Season runs from June 19th to September 7th  

Please Note: Thunderbird Bungalows is a Family-Friendly resort and no loud partying will be tolerated.


10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Please notify our office if you are going to be arriving later than 6:00 pm to make arrangements for your later arrival.


11:00 PM TO 8:00 AM – No outside music permitted between these hours.


Check in time is after 4:00 pm.

Check out time is before 11:00 am.

No early check-ins or late check-outs can be offered during our prime season, please do not arrive earlier than 4pm for check-in.


High Season Bookings- 60 day cancellation policy (full refund of deposit less $50.00 administration fee per cabin cancelled) – June 19th to September 7th, 2020.

Low Season Bookings – 14 day cancellation policy (full refund of deposit less $50.00 administration fee per cabin cancelled).

No refunds will be made after check-in has taken place.


Maximum guest occupancy for cabin must not be exceeded and number of guests must be registered at time of booking, any extra guests may be asked to leave.  One extra guest may be permitted in select 2 bedroom cabins for an additional guest fee of $15/night and must be registered at the time of booking.

1 Bedroom Cabins – Sleeps 2 guests

2 Bedroom Cabins – Sleeps 4 guests

3 Bedroom Cabins – Sleeps 6 guests


No smoking or vaping permitted inside the cabins – doing so will result in a $250 charge.


No smoking or vaping in common areas i.e. pool, playground, courtyard.


Pool operates mid-June to mid-September and is weather permitting.

No smoking, gum, sunflower seeds or glassware inside the pool area.

No life guard on duty.

You are responsible for your children’s and own safety.

Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult.

No large pool floats permitted.

Only registered guests of the Thunderbird are allowed in the pool area.

Please observe posted pool rules.


We sell split firewood onsite for $8/bag (cash only), we do not permit any bulk deliveries of wood to the resort.

It is unlawful to bring outside firewood into Riding Mountain National Park or to chop down trees or branches within the Park and doing so could result in fines.

DO NOT leave burning fires unattended. 



3 bedroom cabins have 2 spots per cabin.

1 and 2 bedroom cabins have one spot per cabin.

Small trailers may be permitted, please ask first.

Extra parking available on the street.


Your cabin will be clean and ready for you at check-in, we do not provide daily housekeeping services. 

Guests are expected to leave their cabin tidy upon check-out.  To avoid a $100 cleaning fee, all dishes are to be washed, dried and put away, spills wiped up and garbage is to be disposed of in the bins located in the back lanes.  


Dogs only are allowed, with permission, in our pet-friendly cabins – #22, and #23.

Please be advised that we charge a pet fee per pet of $20.00/day or $100.00/week. Maximum of 2 pets allowed per cabin.

Pets are not permitted in the main courtyard area of the resort (across the lane) at any time, including the playground and pool area, or at any other non-designated pet-friendly cabin

Pet droppings must be picked up by the pet owners immediately and deposited in outdoor trash receptacles located in the lanes.

Pets are not to be left outside unattended or alone in the cabins unless kennelled.

Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds.

Uncontrolled barking, at any time, inside or outside the cabins, is prohibited.  

For the safety of our other guests, pet owners must be in control of their pets at all times and pets must be leashed when outside.


No riding bikes on the property.

Please do not break branches off of the trees.

For the enjoyment of all our guests please do not dispose of cigarette butts, sunflower seeds or garbage on the ground.

No bikes inside cabins, on decks or leaning against exterior cabin walls.  Bikes may be chained to outside deck posts.

No gazebos, kitchen tents, camping tents, tarps or other removable structures permitted.
